Rotary Midtown Dolls Museum
Known as the pride of Gujarat, Rotary Midtown Dolls Museum is situated in Rajkot. The museum has earned a place in the Limca Book of Records for its unique collection of dolls. The museum was set-up by the locals with individuals coming together to add to the collection. Rotary Midtown Dolls Museum was set-up in the year 2001 by the joint contribution of Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank Ltd and Shri Arvindbhai Maniar Jankalyan Trust.
Significance of the Rotary Midtown Dolls Museum
This is an exclusive museum & cultural center, the first in the state of Gujarat. In a 9000 square feet area, it houses ethnic dolls from more than 100 countries. It was inaugurated by former Deputy Prime Minister Shri L.K Advani on 24th July 2004.
Unification of Various Cultures:
With over 1500 dolls the Rotary Midtown Dolls Museum represent a wide variety of International culture. One can find dolls made from rags and waste papers to those made with gold and silver threads. The value of these dolls ranges from Rs.1 to Rs. 400,000.
There are various computerized techniques by means of which one can easily get the know-how about various dolls, the culture, and history they exhibit.
Other Utilities in the Rotary Midtown Dolls Museum
Air-Conditioned Cinematheque for fun and entertainment is there at the museum. While you are busy in the world of dolls, children also get an opportunity to see their favorite fables, folk stories, cartoon films and fairy tales in Gujarati, Hindi, and English.
For each doll, a theme showcase has been established, which reflects the culture of the region and is placed with their country flag.

1. Foreign Language Learning Centre :
The Language Library at the Rotary Dolls Museum has more than 40 foreign and over 10 Indian Languages that can be learned by the students.
2. Souvenir Shop :
You can buy stickers, country flags, Picture postcards, stationeries for children etc. from the shop.
3. Guided Tour :
The Museum has well-trained staff and tour operators who would guide you throughout your tour of the museum.
Highlights of the Museum
The major highlights of the museum are dolls depicting folk dance like bhangra and dandiya, blue-eyed Barbie, black-eyed Laila, string puppets, glove puppets, designer dolls, husk dolls, Santa Claus dolls, and Einstein dolls. One section of the museum exhibits dolls from different countries in kiosks, providing information about the national anthem, history, and culture from where the doll have been brought. Besides the collection of the museum, there is also a souvenir shop and library. The museum offers a perfect platform for kids to explore and learn history. Both the adults and children actively visit this museum to explore its rare collection of dolls.
Museum Timings: Except Monday: From 9:30am to 1:30pm & 4:00pm to 8:00pm
Monday Closed Ticket Window closes a half-hour before the Museum time.
